In the Social Constructions of Identity (SCI) Lab we examine the personal, academic, and career identity development of marginalized individuals and communities using critical and intersectional lenses. Members of the lab are committed to addressing the influence of systemic oppression on identity formation. Students are trained as scholar-practitioners who utilize pragmatic and social justice approaches to research. Methodological approaches include qualitative, mixed methods (convergent or qualitative embedded), community-based participatory research, or arts-based research. Key topic areas are:​​​​​​​
