Research in Navigating Liminal Spaces examines broad critical issues such as surviving sexual assault, dealing with body image issues, athletics and movement, and creativity and mental health that often occur on the margins of psychological and educational research. Liminal Spaces refer to the experience of consolidating identity at the boundary of two or more socially imposed identity labels or socio-cultural-political spaces.

Current studies include but are not limited to:
-  Development of culturally appropriate therapeutic dance therapy for Latiné female survivors of sexual assault
-  A liberatory and anticolonial approach to survivor narratives of sexual violence using communal autoethnography
-  Exploration of athletes of color in liminal spaces
-  Utilization of creative arts and tarot to explore career and academic coaching for students from marginalized communities
